For the past week, I've been reading about and making sourdough starters. It's my first time trying out making bread using wild yeast and I wasn't sure which recipe would be best, so I chose three to see which one I preferred. Sourdough starters take about a week, and even though they're going to be ready in the morning, I got impatient today and decided to try out a simple baguette recipe.
I went with the One-a-Day Baguette recipe from Epicurious. It's a good, basic recipe that takes under 3 hours to make and the result is really tasty. Combined with the recipe, I was using techniques from Tartine Bread to shape the loaves. I'm excited for the coming week to practice shaping bread loaves more.
Stay tuned for more bread adventures this week.
